HELP! I have a 873 and the green press to operate button does not engage allowing me to use the machine. After troubleshooting, I jumped the solenoid with an external battery and I was able to get it to disengage. The problem now is that I can't get the hydraulics to work. I assume by jumping the solenoid and seeing that it works, that rules out the solenoid. That plug has three wires. I just barely tapped the two correct terminals (I assume ground and positive) and it disengaged. Not sure what the third wire does unless it then sends power to the hydraulic solenoid then it too disengages? I guess I need to to test that and see if once energized, it the may send power back out as well. I took apart the top left controller to see if I could clean the contacts, but once it was apart, I noticed that where the contact to that button is, I can't access it cause it's sandwiched or embedded within the plastic assembly. Could the controller be my problem? I guess I need to rule out other things first. I'm not there not, but will try what I said before and see what happens. I'm doing things with a very thin wire cause I do not want to cause a short or damage anything else in the process. Hopefully someone understands my dilemma and can provide some guidance. I don't want to have to rig things, but I might have to cause the panel is like $800. Please advise and thank you!

I have no specific help to offer, but a bit of advice. Your idea of "... I'm doing things with a very thin wire cause I do not want to cause a short or damage anything else in the process..." offers practically no protection against damaging your machine.

I agree even a short piece of 26 ga. wire can pass over 10 amps in a short burst, which on a micro processor in the wrong place can be fatal.
