Hey all, Disclaimer: I'm a carpenter not a mechanic. I have a Bobcat 863F, with 3050hrs, which I've owned for 6 years. It is used primarily around the home (snow plowing, Firewood production, etc.) and I put roughly 100hrs a year on it. Over the past couple weeks, I've noticed that I've had to push the traction lock button (green button front upper left hand corner) a number of times to get it to release and allow the machine to move (bar down, push button=no release, bar up, bar down, push button...etc until machine moves again). Bucket raise/lower and tilt works but traction is locked. After a number of attempts, it usually unlocks and is fine until I shut the machine off and have to restart process. A couple days ago, I was having the same issue, got it to clear, moved machine forward and when I pulled back on controls the left side tires stopped, then popped and released. This "pop" was pretty loud and scared me. I then slowly tried again to go backwards and it creeped back a foot or so, got stuck and popped free again. The kicker is that he both sides will move freely forward and the right tires will move backwards...only the left side gets stuck. I've read on this forum about the brake solenoid, and the traction control pull and hold mechanisms but in all those cases the machine would not move at all. The fact that my machine with freely move forward seems to make my problem unique. Any input would be helpful. Thanks all.
