Hello all. I was running my skidder a couple of days ago and it was running nice, as usual. I noticed an enormous amount of white smoke pouring out of the muffler. I immediately shut the machine off because I knew that couldn't be a good thing. I looked in the engine compartment and, to my dismay, found out the rear seal by the flywheel had given out, all my oil was in the engine compartment. Oddly enough, the only alarm that triggered was ECL (engine coolant low), just prior to shutting it down. Naturally I pulled the motor yesterday and replaced the rear seal. The head gasket won't be here until tomorrow. My question is, does this automatically mean I will need to rebuild this engine, or will just changing the head gasket be enough? The motor hasn't seized. I am just wondering what all I should check prior to putting the motor back in. I am going to drop the oil pan and clean everything out best I can. I will clean the cylinders out and lube them with oil, things that seem common sense to me that I will need to do to get rid of all the coolant from where it shouldn't be. Thank you
