Hi the 743 is an 89 i believe the owner told me, been tinkering on this thing for a while and atm I can not take the bucket down with the engine running nor can i tilt the bucket up if I shut it off and manually operate valves it will go down everything els seems to function. Whole story so the guy had 2 tractor mechanics say they didn't want to repair a leaking hydraulic return hose the owner got ahold of me because I use to work on dielectric equipment and boom trucks ect I said sure I'll tackle it... Anyway about 10 hours later i got the hose out after breaking down most of the front side of the valve block and cutting a couple offset wrenches in half then I ran it I noticed it wouldn't boom down or tilt up(Figured air locked) inspected the right side lift cylinder was leaking took it off and noticed the fittings on the cylinder were bad took it to my machinist broke down the cylinder helped him fab up new fittings and touch up some of the welds at the base cleaned it all up inspected the cylinder and resembled. I ran the machine for about 10 mins booming all the way up throttling up and down turning the machine off booming down etc etc got no change, tries to crack some lines to see if i could bleed some air no change I'm at a loss the hydraulic filter is getting really hot I have a new one on the way changing it tomorrow though I doubt its part of the issue anyone have any ideas?

Sounds like the aux hyd is stuck on and that would explain the hot oil also.
Right steering lever controls the auxiliaries. Stick moves right to left and has a detent position all the way to the right. Grab the stick and move it to the left and it should return to the center position.

Thanks for posting with the results, too often it's unknown whether the problem was fixed or not and it helps to know for future reference.
