Hello forum, I bought a bobcat 743 at a yard sale for $1500 last year, with tooth bucket, tho engine was dead.your forum is tremendous! Got me through the engine swap, port block bronze filter change, unjoint change, and other details.Well after 12 months and a reman engine...it’s alive. Interesting though, the preheat glow activation is to the right, and the starter crank is left counterclockwise turn. I suspect two wires at the key switch are bass ackwards. Might this be a simple swap on back of switch of two posts On ignition switch? I have elec schematics but wire colors seem off. Machine runs as I would expect otherwise, but seems to groan when moving. No decrement in steering nor forward drive. No stutter or hiccups in drive. skid turns left and right are even and steady. I used bobcat H/H fluid after total hydraulic drain as dealer said it was ok vice 10w30. My 743 and 873 don’t groan like this. Noise not limited to one side. Thoughts? Thank you.

No replies to this, but for closure, the ignition key switch was wired wrong. A 12v probe light and bobcat wiring diagrams guided me to the solution. Glow plug solenoid was inoperable from the exciter wire being on the “IGN” post on the back of the key switch….solenoid stayed on after starting…solenoid eaten up from this. As far as the hydrostatic groaning noise, it is still present. A long time hydraulic service expert said these wheel motors (gyroler) made more noise than the later ones. He said he could open one up and look, but I choose not to to go looking for a problem that may not be there. As long as everything is working as expected, I’m happy.
