Bobcat 732 drive seals

Hi everyone, been creepin here for a month, finally signed up! I have been working on a 732 recently and have found most of the info I needed here already. I was originally have hydraulic issues, cleaned the brass/bronze filter on the block and that solved my issues. I then was leaking hydro fluid to the chain case, I have now pulled and replaced the seals and noticed the bronze bushing on each drive motor is at a different height. One is flush and the other sticks out quite a bit (1/4-3/8) this was the first motor I pulled so I thought it was normal, first time working on a skid and working with hydraulics. I was hoping someone on here may know which one is the correct placement? And would this be a sign someone worked on it before, or did something over pressuring move this bushing? I hope this is enough details, Thank You in advance!
 
I don't believe that bronze bushing does anything, not sure why it's there.
The “dog bone” that transfers power from the motor to the chain case never touches the bronze bushing.

Maybe I'll give it a go the way it is and see what happens. I totally see what you mean. It seems pretty useless in the grand scheme of things. That motor bolted on just fine, just was weird seeing them both different. These seals I'm replacing are the only way for my hydraulic fluid to get the the chain case? Or is there another place I should be checking?

As these are generic motors, not made by bobcat, i think they are just installed at the factory but not used.
The main seal you're talking about i believe is the only way oil can get in the chain case. Remove the seal by drilling a hole and screwing in a screw an use pliers to pull it out.
I had it in my head that there was a washer and a large quad ring, but i don't think this did any more sealing than the main one that seals against the reduction box housing and the input shaft.
Hopeully some of that makes sense.

I'm lost on the quad ring, but I'll leave it be haha. There is a big washer on the 'inside' of the seal, the case side. I did get a new bronze filter to put in, it wouldn't even drive before I cleaned the original. Hopefully the filter an new seals does it. Thanks for your help Tazza, literally, I wouldn't have a clue where to start it it wasn't for your wisdom spread across this site!
