Hi friends,

Issu:
- Weak lift and tilt (but drive/hydrostatic is strong)
- Aux port hydraulic pressure reads only ~2000PSI

I bought my baby two years back and it has been a slow renovation project. When it arrived all hydraulic functions (drive + lift/tilt) seemed to work fine but quite soon the lift and tilt function became very weak. I've cleaned the hydraulic tank (filled with lots of odd things), change hydraulic filter and engine runs and revs fine. Today I hooked up a hydraulic pressure gauge to the Aux port to check how many PSI the gear pump delivered to rule out leaking seals in the lift and tilt cylinders. Not too surprised I found that the pressure was around 250PSI at idle, 850 at half throttle and only ~1900 at full throttle. If I remember correct the gear pump including valves shall deliver ~3500PSI, am I correct?

So, what's next? Visit the main relief valve to change o-rings etc.? Try to do a direct pressure test on the gear pump (I'm a bit scared to do this as one needs to be really careful not to blow anything up)? Buy and install a new gear pump?

All comments, ideas and suggestions are welcome!

Take good care everyone!
