help just pickup up a 642 1984 runs new when you go to turn bobcat it feels like its struggling but it does turn would it be drive motors??drained hydraulic oil and filter still no difference workd fine forward and reverse

Lift the cab, is there a square block on the hydraulic pump with 3 hoses on the left? there is a hidden filter behind the fitting on the middle one.
This only applies to the older style, if there is no square block, it could be drive motor issues, but i would have suspected it would be only one side, not both.

Is your machining squealing really loud when you try to turn? If so you need to remove the hydrostatic drive, disassemble the drive and drive the two brass waffer plates. these plates need to be perfectly flat. Get a cheap surface plate (made in china $50 maybe) course sand paper to sand out all the grooves. Next you need some lapping compund. this comes as a powder forum mix it with a light oil like air tool oil. On the surface plate spread the compound and evenly rub figure 8's with the plates against the plates. Keep doing this until all the sanding grooves are gone, you'll see the grooves very easily aganist the compound film. Once the plates are flat CLEAN every thing twice one little particle will destory all your work. Reassemble your unit and bleed the unit make sure the machine is on safety stands. work the drive back and forward slowly to work out all the air bubbles. You see a huge difference after this. Good luck, Remember CLEANINESS is important with hydraulics

The bronze filter (as per Tazza above) is a maintenance item that should be changed and may make a huge difference.
