Has anyone experienced a bobcat leaking oil from around the oil filter area. I have installed 2 of them on it and it seams as I run it for a while I start to see oil dripping down from the filter. I am not sure it is the filter??? Is there somewhere else it could be leaking from up above?? This is on the little FORD Industrial engine. It is not spraying oil out but just a drop or so every so often as it is collecting on the floor of the engine compartment Thanks Steve

Did you just change the oil recently? If so, did the gasket from the old filter come off with the old filter? If it was stuck to the filter mount and the new filter was installed with it in place, it will leak.

The old gasket did come off. I just recently like yesterday put a new filter on it and I checked the mating surface's quite well. I cranked it up and no leaks, but after I ran it for about 30 min I saw oil on the side of the oil filter. Not a lot but it was there??? I am perplexed. It was not driping but there was oil where I had just cleaned on the bottom of the engine compartment

That is weird. Could it be that you got an oil filter with a bad crimp? For the price of a filter, it may be worth swapping it to see what happens.

i always tighten the filter with a wrench, have seen too many leak or come loose when tightened by hand. I did have one that had a pinhole in it covered by paint which showed up a few days later. Not terribly tight but probably 1/4 to 1/2 turn after hand tightening. just my .02 though.

I found the culprit. It was the oil pressur switch, which sits right above the filter and it was leaking at the wire connector spot. Thanks Steve
