Hi all. I have a Bobcat 630. My original problem was I could run it for 15 minutes and the sticks would start squeeling and they would get stiff. If I let it cool down I would get the same out of it again. A year ago I read a thread on this sight that gave me hope that changing the port block filter might fix this. I did change it and it seemed to help. I think there are more problems. When I changed it there were metal filings in caught by that filter. I did clean the port block really good because of the metal filings. Something I did learn through doing that repair is you should replace the o-rings when you take that all apart. I didn't and now I need to go back and do that. I have some leaks. I just keep puting fluid in the reservior. I realize I have several problems, but where typically do the metal filings come from? Also is it worth getting a rebuild kit or do you just swap out the component? Even rebuilt components are expensive.

If you choose to repair, be very cautious, make sure it is completely clean, and get a seal kit to replace all seals. The number one failure on these types of motors is the gerotor, over time they wear and then you start loosing pressure. But by your statement of contamination, you are probably looking at a broken shaft or internal shaft. Seal kit is offered here. http://www.loaderpartssource.com/se...-630-631-632-641-642-and-643-drive-motor.html

I guess it depends on how many particles you are talking about. My old 731 had a few, even bits of silicone sealant. Not heaps, but enough. I cleaned it all up and worked just fine.
What sort of particles were they? how big, how many? You will always get small amounts from wear inside the pumps and motors, if there is a heap, you have something wearing a lot and will need to pull the motors and pump down to clean it all out. No point replacing motor parts and still having shavings floating around to cause more issues for you.

If you need a replacment drive motor, I have a good used Ross motor from a 530 bobcat. I ended up replacing both of mine cause I couldn't find a used one and the replacement requires that you change both. Gets expensive- believe me!
