bobcat 610 correct drive belt

Just got a 610 which came with belt # 6515271 46-1155 1211* I got a hold of a belt distribution center and they sent me according to what I gave them, a A&I 2926V616. The guy said the new belt was the wider, and better belt. Its a 1/4" wider, but also a 1/4" less on the sidewall height. Will this work correct, and better?

In 40 years of running and repairing M-600/M-610 bobcats I have never found the exact belt run on these machines from an "after market" source. I'm not saying they aren't out there…..I just haven't found them. It is one heck of a chore to replace them. I don't know what the savings is on that belt but, even if it was free, it's not enough for me to want to go back in 30 days and do it again. Just my opinion…….I think you're playing with fire. However……if it does work out for you…..post us the results so we all know.

One other thought on this subject…….provided the bushings in the 'driven sheave' or bearings in the jackshaft are in good condition so there is no vibration……in a commercial application (1000s of hours per year usage), we get 5+ years out of the standard belt……don't know how much better you can get.
