bobcat 542b throttle control

i just acquired a bobcat 542b how does the throttle control work, other units ive operated have had either a lever or foot pedal this looks a little different i followed the rod under the cab to a cylinder looking item on the end of the rod next to the seat , is the lever missing or something different with this unit

As far as i'm aware, there should be a lever
