Hi all, I am new to the board and had a couple questions for the other members. I am considering purchasing a 1986 Bobcat 540 loader with 1650 hours on it. It comes with the 4 foot bucket, a brand new 6 foot snow bucket and the backhoe attachment. It has had 3 different owners since new and has always been used in a non-commercial manner. I tested it for a few hours yesterday and other than a couple minor things that were wrong (parking brake didn't work and there was a small amount of blue smoke on start up) I could find nothing else wrong. Does $5000 delivered to my house seem fair? Are there any problems that plague the 500 series skid steers and if there are, what should I be looking for? Any help or advice you could give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help.
