Bobcat 453 - won't start

I have a Bobcat 453 with 1213 hours...bought it with 950 hours in 2003 so its been gently used over the past 10+ years. Over the weekend, I tried using the machine for the first time in about 6 months. Had it running 1-2x during that period just to run it. We changed the battery, it fired up, and ran nicely. I was going into some woods, up a slight incline, and it just died. I got out and noticed the rear door was open. I closed the door thinking there might be a safety switch activated but it wouldn't start. It cracks strong but doesn't seem like its getting fuel. Here's the serial number and video. I think a 453 has the same fuel pick up tube as a larger machine. Over the years the line in the tank becomes brittle and falls off. Try filling the tank right tight and see if it starts. If that proves OK, try a new fuel filter. That's has a kohler, right?

Yeah, I agree with bobcatdan, sounds like the fuel pickup tube. To get it back to the shop I hung a 5 gallon diesel can with a ratchet strap off the rear door and ran a fuel line from the squeeze bulb to the 5 gallon can. When pressurized don't forget to release the top fuel valve, then pump until your hand feels like an old pair of shoes.

Yes, the 453 does have the same fuel line set up as the bigger machines but its so much easier to change on the 453 because the fuel tank is right behind the cab instead of under the engine.
Don't have to hang a jug on it to get a temporary fuel source, Just run new longer line out the door and drop it in fill port on the tank.
453 has a Kubota D722 engine
