hello everyone, i bought a 444 with a blown up onan in it and i am trying to take the onan out. could someone please tell me how to get the varitable sheave off of the engine? this is a old 444 it does not have the split jackshaft on it. i am assuming its a early version. thanks for your time

All I can think of is check for set screws, including double ones, penetrating oil and whatever puller will fit.
There is a very active facebook Melroe owners group that deals with these old clutch machines, they will probably have the tips and tricks.

thanks for responding flyerdan, yep it has setscrews and roll pins going through it. i tried going through the Melroe owners group and it would take my post off after about 5 min, i thought something was wrong with the site. i just didnt want to tear anything up on that sheave, parts are hard to come by for a machine that old. thanks

I think that there is a book for a 500 in the manual thread, it's probably has the same variable drive.
You can always look on Bobcat Parts Online and see all the parts, including fasteners, related to it.
