Hello everybody my name is Eugen and i´m from Germany. So you have to apologise my bad english. I´m the owner of a Bobcat 443. I think it is from 1988. In winter i use it for cleaning the area around my house because we have alot of snow. Since yesterday i have a problem. After using it a few seconds the hydraulic power of the whole system decreases to a low level. Everything is working very slow especially the driving train. I am loosing oil but not much and the pumps are dry as well as the main valve. I cant find the leak. Is there a safety valve which i can´t find? This would be interesting because i thougt i heard a low squealing sound which for me could be a damaged safety valve. Could the filter be the problem? Or does anyone of you have another explaination? All fluid levels are good. Belt is ok. Thank you so much for your help. Eugen

I would check the drive belt and tensioner. To change the belt, you need to take the bolt, holding the pump pulley on out of the end of the pump shaft. This should give you enough room to squeeze the belt between the pump and the frame.

Hello everybody thank you for your helpful suggestions. I was able to tackle the problem. There was a little leak in a hydraulik pipe directly under the driving belt caused by vibrations. A very fine jet of oil shoots directly to the diving belt wich causes the loss of hydraulik power. Because everything is extremly tight it was very difficult to dismount it. After repairing the pipe by welding it (because we live in a metric world) it was even more difficult to mount it. But now everything works very well again. Thank you for your help. Kind reguards EG

Sorry one more importing thing: Does anybody have a complete repair-manual for my 443. This would be very helpful for me. Thank you.

Old Machinist should be able to help you out. Make sure your profile page has an e-mail address added to it. Glad you got your problem figured out. That is a tight area indeed.
