how old is the gas in the machine , if you are here in the USA then ethonal gasoline may be your problem as it breaks down fast , to test that theroy you can hook an external tank to the engine and try and run it ---------------- from there I would do a compression test before you start tearing into governors and what not , I always like to start with the easiest most common problem and work thru it
