I have a unused 50" cleanup bucket for the XCHANGE system. My 2003 331D has been converted to hook and pin and my 24" has been converted. I was told that the original cleanup bucket was 40" and that the 50" is too heavy for the 331. I found a rental service that has a 40" but wants $300. and trade. Thats the same price to have the 50" converted. Is the 50" too heavy??

Depends. Depends on how heavy that 50" inch actually is. Depends on how much HP your 2003 still has, Depends on what you're going to use it for. A too heavy bucket can wear out the engine and hydraulics, as you know, but size of the bucket is only one piece. What gauge steel is it? From the thickness you can guesstimate weight and then check your machine specs for what you working load is. Subtract the bucket weight from that load and you could be fine with a converted bucket.
