Having trouble with low gear and hydraulics. Thought I'd sheered the keys on the shaft off but after pulling the motor and the clutch packs I found that they are fine. Now I'm starting to think my low gear clutch is gone because I have my high gear and it works properly. Can anyone shed some light on this for me? It's my first skidsteer and I'm new to this kind of stuff. TIA.

Are these clutches electromagnetic? i think i remember stories of the coils or clutches failing, giving only one speed.

These use electric/magnetic clutches simular to what riding mowers use to engage the deck. The low speed is the outer clutch, the high speed is the inner. check for voltage at the low speed clutch connector. I simple test light will work. If it has voltage, it needs a clutch. If it does not, you will need to figure out why. They use a relay and a switch to engage the clutches.
Sadly, there is no aftermarket alternative for the clutches. You will have to buy it from Bobcat.
