Hello all, I'm Horseshoe Steve from Australia and and new to the world of skid steers. I'm hoping some one with Bobcat S70 experience can help me. I bought a Bobcat S70 with 1700hrs on it so I can clear a pad for rainwater tank and clear a drive way on my five acre bush block .I serviced it, changed engine oil, oil and air filters and it starts quickly ,doesn't blow smoke and runs runs fine. I was ready to change Hydraulic filter, however I put it off and started doing some work with it. I've done about seven hrs on it and its been working well. The other day I noticed a little trail of fluid from it. I thought it might have been a damaged hose with slow/ little leak as the level in the dip stick reservoir was ok. The other day I was trying to scrape hard baked clay with the bucket front edge down ( I later read you're NOT supposed to drive forward like that with the bucket edge down....DOH! ) I don't know if that made it work harder and that made it worse but it started to leak hydraulic fluid much quicker, and drained the reservoir totally pretty quickly in about 20min or so and then obviously wouldn't lift or move. Today i changed filter and filled it with new fluid. When it started it was dripping fluid really fast from the right rear wheel side, under the body, not out of the axel. I didn't try to move it. I lifted the cab and looked in from the top of engine bay and cant see any fluid in the top or coming from hoses. I jacked it up and put axel stands under it and removed right side rear wheel from where it is leaking to try to get a better look .I couldn't see much though. Could I have damaged /ruined a wheel /axle seal or is likely that I've damaged a hydraulic pump seal or the pump itself? All advice greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance Horseshoe Steve
