Older Bobcat 773 here. The problem is, the lift and tilt don't work after 10-20 minutes of use. If I stop the machine for a couple hours then go back it'll work for a few minutes then quit again. The Lap Bar light on the BICS panel goes off concurrent with the issue. I have a good mechanic, who replaced the solenoid valve. We thought it was fixed but the problem reoccurred after he left. So I replaced the totally worn-out bushings on both sides of the Lap Bar and tested with the machine on but not running. In this state, you can raise and lower the lap bar and the light will go off and on all day as expected. But as soon as you start the motor, you have 10-20 minutes before the light goes out and the lift/tilt no longer work. It seems like a loose or short wire but also seems like something to do with the engine heat? The mechanic is uncertain as well. Any suggestions on where to look or anything to try would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance for any help.

In my opinion your thinking is correct about a short. The engine heat will expand things and this can either pull things apart or allow a short to make ground.

There is no easy way to find a short. I have found some that have been inside the wire harness with nothing visible on the outside of the harnes. Just the cable got old and vibration and movement caused the wire to break inside the harness.

Good luck.
