What's your recommendation for keep the hydraulic and hydrostatic hoses tight on these machines? Most on my 843 seem to be in virtually impossible locations to get regular or even stumpy open end wrenches on. I'm thinking a good set of crows foot sockets. The three most needed sizes appear to be 15/16", 1" and 1 1/16".

Sadly, that's how it goes on most older machines. The newer ones are actually designed better to allow a little more access to the hose fittings. On the hard to get to ones, generally tube lines. I found that removing the clamp that holds them to the frame allows for a little movement to get the fittings low enough to get wrenches on the fittings. On ones that are older than dirt, i some times need two spanners and 2 pipes to crack them.

I have a set of crow's foot sockets and they do work well. I think you may have to resort to modifying some of your existing wrenches. I like to picked up used good quality wrenches at auctions to modify for vehicle specific purposes.
