Not sure if I have a bad drive motor. Bought machine in spring. Ran fine as of late. I loose drive in my left track. It comes and goes. It "catches", almost like a gear with missing teeth. I checked the gear oil, NOTHING. No excessive heat or noise in drive motor. Obviously I added and replaced case drain filter. Filter was clean despite a few tiny metal shavings. There is also a leak behind the hub. I performed the case drain test, and there is a continuous flow, not a drip, coming out of it. Signs tell me it is a bad motor, however my main hydraulic pump is also leaking out.of.both the left and right seals that the control arms hook to. Not sure if that has anything to do with it. Just dont want to spend 2k and the drive motor.not be it. Has anyone heard of this hesitation or coming and going of the left drive???

What model machine? you did mention tracks and no gear oil, if it's a tracked machine and there was no gear oil in the hub, that can be a real bad thing.
When it engages, does it bog the motor down? if the planetary gears have been eaten up, that could explain the jerkyness.
Leaks at the pump for the steering linkages won't be causing this issue i don't think. Easy te replace these seals later though.
