Message: <blockquote data-quote="soutthpaw" data-source="post: 27937" data-attributes="member: 2815">I don't have a backhoe for my current machine but did for one I had several years back...   The rear stabilizer option is almost a must when running a backhoe attachment esp on a smaller machine...  they give you much more downforce with less movement of the machine...   without the stabilizers they really like to roll up on their rear wheels lifting the front stabilizers of the ground .   The vertical stabilizers are good if you are working in confined spaces  or close to the side of a building etc.  otherwise the standard outrigger style is preferable.  it gives a wider base and lets you straddle trenches and and angle and not push dirt back into the hole...The Bobcat style backhoe attachments have one of the best viewing angles to see your work..  better than most TLB's or mini excavators as you are sitting high and forward almost on top of the boom...  they are slower if you have to keep moving the maching compared to other equipment out there.    My local dealer stll has a few sets of rear stabilizers they are selling cheap too if ya looking  The biggest limitation is depth..    7, 9 or 11 feet depending on the machine.   where as most TLB's will do at least 12-14 feet...</blockquote>
