That was the early days of Bob-Tach but I'll bet they were already making backhoe attachments. What model number is going to be the best match for my M700? It does have 12 GPM so I think it will drive a hoe's hydraulics fairly well.

That is heaps of flow, the only thing i'd be concerned with is the pressure. The more pressure the more force you will have with the hoe. My 743 has about 2,400 psi, a little more is always better. It has about 12gpm too, i can run the machine at a little more than idle and it digs quite quick.
As long as it can lift it, it will be fine. You may need to fiddle to mount it, but that's only a little bit of a pain.

Copy flow Tazza. As far as mount - all you have on those old machines is the Bob-Tach and the two large "hooks" on the front of the chassis. I've seen a couple of Bradco backhoe attachments that appear to have corresponding hooks (facing down) with screw handles to mate. Something like this perhaps http://nashville.craigslist.org/for/3231885535.html

I think that is the newer style hook up. Mine has trailer ball couplings, they work really well, the only issue for me is some times getting it off the machine is a real pain. I tore one of the mounts off last time i used mine... whoops! they had stress fractures already, i just made them a little worse.....

So the trailer ball hitches mate up with the balls mounted on brackets that are attached to the arms, correct? Or are those brackets attached to the front chassis?

The balls are mounted to a piece of what is almost angle iron that bolts to the frame. I'm not sure if your machine is drilled for this or not.
If you look up my profile, send me an e-mail. I'll send a shot that you can see the mounts secured to my 743. Not a great pic, but you can see it all the same.
