I have a 2003 bobcat t250. The loader will pick up 16 rail road ties and curl them back at the end of 48inch pallet forks like there is nothing there. I am working on a barn yard for my bull. I went and rented a bobcat auger with 18inch bit. I had a bit of a tough time getting one of the lines hooked up. How ever after some soft tapping and a little blaster it hooked up. How ever the auger would only turn really slowly. Now the auger will only run in reverse and slowly. I cant get it to drill and if i hit the switch on the right control it will only stop the auger from turning. It only works half of the time. I am trying to figure out what is going on. I only have the auger to 3:30cst tomorrow afternoon.

Sounds like your aux stems are stuck or even a problem with your aux manifold where the quick couplers connect.
Try removing a line to the coupler on the auger, operate the aux hydraulics, the oil should shoot out. Try both directions. Then connect it back up and check the other, its a way to work out what side is not working.

Just a safety note, oil under pressure can cut skin, so be careful not to have it spray on you when opening the fittings or operating the hydraulics.

try unscrewing the both quick couplers out of the manifold on the front of the machine ,, there are orings and back up rings on the back side of those couplers , when you used the hammer to knock the coupler on under pressure it may have blown the orings and oil is by passing , do you know how to release the pressure on the machine ? the pressure may have been stored in the auger from the last person that used it not releasing the pressure when they unattached it

Figured it out, the switch on the joystick has went bad. I switched the lines on the auger and was able to get my project done. The switch was intermittent, for a while it would reverse then it wouldnt. Also when i disconnected the auger the entire loader would go in to bypass. I think the switch is sticking and or the solenoid valve is sticking.

I would flip the cab and unplug the two coils on the control vavle for the aux fucntion, this will tell you wheter it is electric or a hyd stem problem.

where is the control valve. i dont have a service manual yet
With the cab up, look to the left, there is a white block with tube lines going into it, this is the control valve. There will be coils held on with nuts, the two on the top control the aux hydraulics.
