i have a M700 bobcat with a wisconsin engine in it and i scraped the old alt and regular for a chevy alt and am not sure how to wire it up the two wires coming off the alt plug it charges when you energize both wires but i think i need a fuse link in the wiring somewhere, dont want to fry a good alt thanks

junkman, go to this site and it shows the wiring for gm alt, I can't make it a active link from firefox sorry.

thanks for the help now i can get my lights put on now.
Since you are replacing a regulated alt you may have all the wires you need. Its been a while since I did it but I know if you put a alternator on a machine without a start position on the key you have to put a diode in the excite line or it will drain the battery with the key off. and also you will not be able to shut the engine off with the key due to feedback from the alt. When you start the engine with a key the excite wire goes to the starter solenoid terminal on the key switch so it gets a temporary shot of 12v and when you release the key it breaks the circuit. all the alt needs is that temporary jolt to excite it. You probably know all of this anyhow though.

junkman, are those your pictures of davis backhoe in the photos? I had mine on a bobcat 632 but now would like a picture of new holland or deere mount as they will be different. I am thinking single 3pt link in the center will work the best.
