So I decided to add some led flashers to the rear of my BC. I decided to use led oval 6.5 x 2.5 inch from here

Decent pricing and quick ship, I have used these guys alot. They also show the exact size of the holes for these on their website.
So I scribed out the position for the hole saw in the rear pillars, I am figuring these are not that structural....I know everything on these are... but none the less heres where they are going

First one done by using a hole saw then connecting the dots with a jigsaw, actually didnt take that long, slow speed and soapy water for lubricant on the blade.

First one finished, these are just a friction fit with a groove to hold them in.

This is the second one marked out, I ended up cutting this one completly with the jigsaw, wanted to use the plasma but there are 2 hoses behind this.

Both complete, total time involved about 3 hours....not really trying to kill myself with this.

Heres a video of them working, doesnt show it well, the flashes seem to be to fast for my pos camera

They do look pretty good, i can't see that part being structural either. They usually mount them to the upper corners of the ROPS, i have two machines with them like that.
Wise move not using the plasma in there, they sure make the job easy but they also do a good job at melting things they really shouldn't.

Nice job, are you going to fit some on the front?. In Aus, to drive on the road the machine has to have a tax disc for insurance purposes and can only travel between safety bollards (officially). Did you do it for road travelling or just work site awareness? I was thinking about ding the same but if I do, I think I will put them on the rear door and possibly on the rops near the headlights.

Nice installation, those type of lights lend themselves to a quick, good looking install. Years ago we made a new trailer at work and I used the hole-saw / plasma cutter method to put the lights in the 2x4x.188 rectangular frame. 2" hole saw for the round marker lights in the center and corners, if I recall correctly. Added bonus was that all of the wiring was protected inside the frame, and I had a breakaway box on the tongue so when they forgot to unplug from the truck they wouldn't strip out all of the wiring.

In Brisbane i think we need a special number plate for limited road use. Most don't worry about it though, they just dart from the truck to the property they are working on. All new ways to get more money from us, as if car rego isn't already enough!

In Aus it is called rego, in the uk it used to be called a tax disc, I figured it also be called that in the US. In Perth, you get ( or used to) a normal car number plate. I am intending to register a 10.5 ton front end loader for road use. It already has indicator, brake lights and headlights. A lot of guys dart from truck to job here but the police can hide behind columns to fine you for crossing the road when you walk and they love the revenue excuse. I agree re the government and getting more money, in Perth you will not be able to fart without it being taxed soon.

Tax disc = rego = registration? In the US, or at least the state of michigan, farm equipment is supposed to have a slow moving vehicle orange triangle on the back but otherwise is unrestricted from driving down regular roads. No registration or insurance needed.
