97 LX665 Questions on maintenance

Got a few questions on maintenance of an LX665 1. Can the valves be adjusted without tilting the cab off the engine. 2. Is it easier to replace the boom hydraulic hoses with the boom lifted and locked. 3. Are the relays located in the panel specific the New Holland, or can you buy replacement heavy duty relays for a quarter of the price which New Holland dealers want, $43 last time I looked. The valves can be adjusted with the cab down. It might be a little easier to replace the hose when the boom is up. Buy the OEM relay.

Sandy, did you do the hoses yet? How was it with the boom up? And are you doing the hard lines also that run along the boom?

Not yet, just got the turbo rebuilt and putting it on first so I can get it restarted to raise the boom. I was just going to replace the hoses, is there something about the steel lines I should know about?

No was just wondering cause mine are all rusted and I will prob be replacing all the hard lines and hydro lines someday.

Ok, a few of my lines are a little rusty, I'll just sand them off and give them a coat of primer and silver paint. Anyone know the fitting and hose sizes for the boom rubber hydraulic hoses. It appears the both hoses on the left side have the same fittings, and the 2 hoses on the right have different fittings on one end. I have access to a Weatherhead t-400 crimper and thought I might be able to make them up. Partspring and Messick's seem to be good for parts, but it seems they have gone up about 40% on the parts and Partspring uses FedEx to ship and wanted $30 to ship some small parts that would have gone in a USPS $5 box. Wesco Performance has good prices on replacement seat belts, open circuit style. TractorPartsasap.com has weights and brackets for a lot less than the dealers along with some good prices on other parts like glow plugs. There is a guy on ebay that has good prices for the quick attach bucket parts.
