hey all. great info here. spent many hours reading and absorbing . i am working on a early 2000 963. originally i could turn on key, lower seat bar and nothing would work. crank it up and let if run for a few minutes and finally seat bar light comes on, push green button and it works the rest of the day. i thought it had to be related to temperature of oil and maybe oil levels. i was looking around at it, pulling wires and such and left the key on and seat bar down. had not run at all that day. after about ten minutes or so, i hear a click and the seat bar light has come on and the solenoid to unlock the hydraulics clicked on. i can repeat this almost daily. i can leave it for a couple hours and it will not turn on seat bar light until after key is left on for a few minutes. not sure where to go from here. any tips or advise would be greatly appreciated. i have swapped seat bar, switch and all, from working machine and it made no difference. bubba

Sounds like its taking a while for the controller to power up. May be a loose/corroded connection or ground. The controller is behind the panel next to the drivers left foot.

thanks for the input. this thing is kicking my butt. i've looked at all the grounds, connectors and wires. nothing yet. tinkered with it over an hour yesterday and never got lap bar light to come on for more than a few seconds. it just intermittently comes on and goes off with no apparent reason. can i swap a controller from a working machine and try that or does each controller have to be programmed for a specific machine ? thanks again, bubba

The controllers are programmed for each machine but for the purpose of diagnosing whether this is a wiring or controller issue you can swap them around. I wouldn't try running it with wrong controller.
