940 acts like it’s running out of fuel when going downhill

My old diesel 940 has developed a miss when going downhill. I believe it's level related, as when it starts if I spin and back downhill it clears right up. Any starting places? The fuel filter is as new and visually clean, but I can certainly change it again.

Just a guess, could your fuel pickup line have broken off or have cracks in it?

One way to tell would be to let the fuel get low, on level ground, and see if the problem comes up, or better yet just remove the pickup tube and inspect it.

Thanks! I wondered about that, but I didn't see a pick up on the parts diagram. How do I access it?

Pull the fuel supply hose (left side) off at the fuel pump, & see if u have good fuel flow, as its gravity fed from the bottom of the tank, i have seen debris in the shut off valve blocking fuel flow,
