Hello, I just bought an 873 bobcat for our farm. I don't know anyting about these machines. I can not find the serial number and I need it to order the service and shop manual. Can anyone hlep me.

I just bgought an 873 also. my serial number is on the left hand side towards the rear of the machine. it is on a black metal plate. im thinking yours is missing because its easy to find it. im sure there is another one on the machine somewhere

Serial# plate should be on the left side of the machine between the lift cyl and loader arms. if your plate is missing, the s/n is stamped into the front of the chaincase near the check plug, you can get a new s/n plate from your dealer.

I can't believe anyone would buy a Bobcat without running the serial number thru a dealer before paying for it , I have seen a few people pay good money for them , thought they were ok , only to have the machine taken away , lucky they never went to jail and lose their money , if you don't know the serial number , and it's not on the bill of sale , you can always stop by a dealer and they can hook up to the controller and give it to you , if your feelin' lucky , only takes a couple of minutes to do
