873 skid steer fuel leak

On 12/5/13 I posted that I had a leak in my Deutz engine fuel line. I purchased the seal ring kit (part # 6672933) as advised. That part was installed successfully. However, upon further checking, I discovered that I made a mistake as to the location of the leak. For orientation purposes, a hose exits the fuel filter to the steel tubing that goes to the four injector pumps. From the last injector pump, the steel tubing changes to a cloth, braided line (this is where the leak is located) that goes up to the fuel injectors. Two questions: 1). How do I fix the leak? 2). What is the purpose of the braided cloth line that runs to all the fuel injectors? Thank you.

I dont know why the metal changes to a braided line. But the braided line is available in a bulk section thru a dealer. You simply snip off how much line you need with a scissors from the bulk roll. And replace the bad section. I just threw away about 2 feet of the line a couple of weeks ago that has been hanging around the shop since our T200 days. Now I wish I would have kept it, I would have gladly mailed it to you. I just didnt know anyone who has this engine.

It is the low pressure fuel return from the injector to the HP pump and to the tank. If you follw it to the end of the engine it switched back to a steel line to return to the tank. As stated it is a bulk item sold at dealer. It is a rubber fuel line with a cloth jacket. It gets old and swells/dries out depending on use and climate. Good PM at this point is to but 10 feet and replace it all at once. sstec
