Why couldn't I just do without the cable harness and wire the 2 wires that go in to it, directly to the 2 wire interconnect cable?
I have a 1996 873 bobcat...engine #BF 4M 1011 F. I have discovered what is causing the motor to shut off. They call it the cable harness which is plugged to the interconnect cable which is plugged into the shutdown device or fuel shutoff solenoid. This cable harness has a 2 wires going into a square block that has 3 terminals inside the block. It then has 2 wires coming out that goes into the interconnect cable. The interconnect cable pn# is 04213069 and they want $42 for this simple cable. The cable harness is $96. The internal 3 terminal block is all corroded and really no way to salvage due to the rust and corrosion. Finally to my question. Why couldn't I just do without the cable harness and wire the 2 wires that go in to it, directly to the 2 wire interconnect cable? I wish I knew how to post the pics because it would make more sense about what I am trying to explain. If anybody knows what I am talking please pipe in with any advice. TIA
