OK, so I am in the local Bobcat shop trying to source the brackets required to brace the 8709 backhoe on a 2000 873. Good god! The whole kit is no longer available as it is not current application. itemizing the parts individually is down right scary. They quoted me almost 2000 bucks. Sheesh I will have to either make them or source them off a basket case machine.

OMG fire up the welder. Are they similar to the 709 "hook" style brackets or are these the old style with the trailer ball on each side?
The JD 911 hoe I had used a quick release 3 pt link from a farm tractor to stabilize it. I'd go that way. Easy to adapt to any other brand of loader to if need be.

They are the hook type. I am looking at an 8709 backhoe so I wanted to use the correct brackets. I may look for an non bobcat bachhoe and fab up my own brackets.

I know what your saying about keeping it stock. I had hard time finding a set for my 709. But they were only 350 new. If your going to build a set, start with some used factory ones and make them fit. Hopefully you can find some used ones. I'd start with craigslist, ebay, kijiji.com, then call all the dealers to see if they happen to have a set. I got the ones for my 853 this way, dealer had 3 sets that only fit 853 and 863 and sold them cheap just to get rid of them.
