Went to start my 1999 863F with no response. Wouldn't turn over.... not even so much as a click and the gauges won't even respond. I jumped my starter and was only able to get it to crank over, but wouldn't fire up. So, I removed my fuel shutoff solenoid and it fired right up. Figured I had it licked, but still no power to my gauges which wouldn't let me unlock my hydraulics. Keep in mind, my fuel shutoff solenoid has less than 6 hours on it since my original crapped the bed and was replaced. Could it be as simple as a bad fuel solenoid and a new one would allow power to where it needs to go or could the problem by lying elsewhere?

If the gauges are all not working, i'd suspect a bad fuse first. Key on, the gauges should be working. Either a fuse or a bad switch is where i'd start.

If your not getting any power to the cab whatsoever, I'd check the 100 amp fuse. To find that fuse, start at your battery. There are two (red) positive cables connected to the battery, one goes to the starter, follow the other cable which should go up above the battery into a smallish black box. Open the box and you will find a rather large, flat fuse with a hole at each end. The fuse is easy to remove by simply taking out the two nuts holding it on. You could bypass the fuse easily to check if that's the source of your issue. Just put the + cable from the battery to the opposite side of the fuse terminal.

Thanks for the advice guys.....carefully checking my fuse panel, I heard a click when removing my main engine fuse. Simple stupid.... bad fuse connection in the box. Problem solved for the most part!

Well done! The connections do corrode sadly, i don't get how as they are sealed, but they do. If they get really bad, you can cut the wires off and mount an external blade fuse holder.
