Hi everyone, just picked up a 1999 bobcat 863, been wanting one for years to use shuttling wood and machines around in my wood shop business. My discs in the back are already thanking me! Called bobcat to check on the price of a 1000 hr. service, $1100 plus $225 travel fee. Too steep for my blood, thought I would perform the service myself and save some money for the tires I need. Looking for a service manual for the machine, tried Old Machinists link to media fire but the files have been deleted. Where can I find the manual? Thanks, Paul

$101.45 from bobcat
The $1,100 will probably be a new timing belt as well. This requires special gear to tension it.
A standard service won't cost you that much, you will need a hydraulic filter, engine oil filter and oil, air filters and inspect your main drive belt.
That's really about it. The costly part is the timing belt and idlers/tensioners that should be done every 1,000 hours or was it 1,500..... Either way, if its not done and lets go, it will kill your push rods and possibly bend a few valves.

Tazza, Thanks for the update on the service, I dont recall if they were going to do the timing belt or not. I was fortunate enough to pick up a download from Old Machinist on the manual, going to do the service this week. I'll check out the timing belt section as I'm pretty sure no one has done it. I live @ 8700 ft and we get quite a bit of snow, been wanting a skid steer for a long time to supplement the plow truck for moving banks ect. Needless to say I'm pretty excited about the 863. Made up some chains on Sunday from some old chains a friend had. Needed to add some repair links here and there but the price was right. bhrapp970
