Took my bobcat 863 to the dealer to fix a hydraulic leak. Suposedly, he replaced the outlet to the pump. When I got home, the machine leaked worse than it did before I took it to be repaired.
So I pulled it into the garage and started my own investigation. Mostly from insparation received by reading these posts.
Fitting from the top. I could swing the hose back and forth with no effort.Turns out, he did remove the pump outlet fitting, but could not get it tightened back up all the way. So they just left it one full turn loose.
I had to remove the cooling plenum and fan to get at it.
After removing the hose I was able to unscrew the fitting with my hand. Shown here with a new O ring. Once I installed and tightened it back to required position, the loader stopped leaking fluid when not running.
Now to the original leak that the dealer did not address.
The hydraulic oil is leaking from the right side of the control valve assembly. Can't really get in to see but I figure I should just order a seal kit and rebuild it. I'll have to remove it to find the leak anyway. Any advice for rebuilding these?
