863 F series steering problem

I just bought this machine and the steering is crazy. 2/3 throtal goes ok but can't control left or right very it is eratic . Starts and goes on its own. Was thinking maybe needs adjusting but the manual I have doesn't show it. S/N 514427610. The leavers are straight and has the aluman pades on top of pump if this helps. Has gas cylenders on each side of arms going to pump. The arms have bolts about midway. Any advice is welcome. Thanks

I would say it is one of two problems , first and most probable would be the pintle arms ( which I presume you are calling the “ aluman pades” they are loose , there is a bolt that goes thru each one which holds it to the square shaft of the sunstrand , if this are loose the machine will be wild , you can use a screwdriver under the pintle arm and pry up to see if there is any movement in the arm , I can tighten up this bolts with some special wrenches I made up without disassembling but I would tell you if they are loose to take the centering plate off to access them , also a good idea to take the bolts all the way out , clean the threads with part and brake cleaner , blow off with air and apply some good lock tite to the threads --------- if the pintles are tight then you need to adjust neutral with the 9/16 headed bolts on top of the pintle plate , you will find that info in a thread already on forum

well now the pintle pade on righr side was bad pulled bouth just cause i was there LOL. got new ones comeing 10 days out give or take. new question though when i put the new pads on what do i need to do next or well putting all back to gether finish the job?oh buy the way bobcat wonted $1000.00 to fix. parts so far has $80.oo + shiping ups.Taking apart was only 3 hrs start to finish. putting to gether may be different LOL Thanks for help and i will holler when parts come in how it comes out
