unit looses power and shuts down. restarts and powers up then reapets. computer reads hydraulic oil high temp and fuel level high. any ideas machine has been seting outside for about a year before i bought it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I 'd ask how long does the machine runs before shutting down , as if it shuts down rather quickly then it's probally a sensor or wiring causing the hyd temp code , did you feel the hydraulic oil cooler to see if it is getting hot , is your radiator under the oil coller clogged up , is the blower belt on the pulley and tensioner and tight ----------have never seen one code up fuel high level before ---------------when you say it looses power and shuts down it makes me think a fuel problem as when it shut downs from a code which activates a shut down it does it fast and clean , no bog down or slow down , just off and on different machines there is either a beep or buzzer that goes off right before and during shut down

Thanks for the input the machine is showing a code of 7 21. The cooler is operating properly. do you know what this code is. Also do you know where the fuse panel is located? Thanks

7-21 is hydraulic oil temp high out of range. The fuse box should be behind the small rectangle cover that is between your lower legs when sitting in the seat.

What would be the fix for this problem. The reason i asked about the fuses is the lights are not working. The unit has 3000 hrs. on it. I only paid $1500.00 for it and it passed the stol;en machine check. I have several little things that needs attention. So all your help is apreciated very much.

If it shuts down after the same time every time, it will be the computer trying to save the machine from damage due to it detecting abmormal operation. It could be as simple as a bad oil temperature sender. It thinks its hot when its not and shuts down to try and save the pumps from damage. I would start with installing a new hydraulic oil temperature sender and work from there.

Thanks for the help. I think i got two problems one being the high temp on the hydraulics. I did find today that the hydraulic fluid was overfilled. The 2nd thing was the machine shuting down the machine was missing the fuel pump bulb i installed one today and when it shut down the bulb goes flat. The machine takes a minute or so to shut off so i belive it is the pickup in the tank. Do you know how to get to the fuel pickup in the tank. I looked but could not find it. Again thanks for the help.

The pickup will be under the pumps, they are not very easy to access as the fuel tank is under the engine and pumps. Not sure there is an easy way to gain access to it. I know others have blocked it off and drilled another pickup tube location near the battery that is far easier to access.

It's a bummer when you can't even see the pickup tube and you need to get it out , if you got a small head and flashlight you might get a glimpse of it , stick your head right over the sunstrand pump on the right side looking at the machine from the front , not only is it down there but kinda under the end of the pump , make sure you got the right one as the return hose uses the same type of grommet and 90 fitting set up ------yes , there is an easy way to access it , remove the motor and pump --------it can be done but it is no fun ----------- there is a thread on relocating the tube , this can be pulled off in about 15 -20 minutes and save a lot of hide off your arms and wrist , you need a new hard style pick up tube or the old style soft rubber ( I wouldn't replace the screen ) (( if you want double protection then add an inline filter )) , a rubber grommet , a 90 degree steel fitting , hose clamp and about 3 ft of fuel hose , looking in the rear engine door on the left you will see the top of the plastic fuel tank , drill a hole to accept the bushing and push the tube and fitting into the tank , if you ever have pickup tube problems again it will be a snap

The pickup tube is a bear to get to I have no skin on my upper arm a bruises to prove it. It was cloged up. Someone has worked on it in the past. They used a piece of brake line brazed to the fitting. I cleaned it and reinstalled it. When i started the machine the pump bulb went flat but never cut off the machine is this normal for the bulb to be flat while machine is running? Also the computer says that the hydraulic charge filter is pluged. Where is this located and can it be removed and cleaned? As always thanks for the help.

The primer bulb should not go flat when running. If there is no screen at the bottom of the pick up tube there is probably some debris caught in the fuel line somewhere between the pick up and the primer bulb causing the bulb to flatten out. You can probably blow compressed air back through the fuel line and push the debris back to the tank, or remove the pick up again...joy..

Before repulling the pickup , take the primer bulb off and replace with a known good one or tap the bulbs inlet side nipple on a hard flat surface and see if you canget any debree to come out the check ball thats in the inlet side , you and also submerge the bulb and your hand in a bucket of diesel and pump it a few times then hit hte nipple end again on a flat surface ===========anpther thing to try is to run the machine on a can of fuel by added a hose to the inlet side the bulb and and putting the end in the can of fuel to see if it clog up, what happens is the original tube qwhich was like a clear plastic tubing gets deteriated and drops off in to the tank , this may have happened more than once in it's life and now the tube in the tank broke up into pieces which are getting stuck in the 90 degree fitting of the pick up tube
