Can any one tell me the wire color that sends power to bics module so I can test to find short. My 852 has blown the bics fuse once a month or so for some time . more often lately. yesterday hired man has it at home and it starts to blow fuse one after another . Witch of course is a dead short. When I go there the next day it does not blow fuse , but no power to bics . I changed relays, cleaned fuse plugs with dielectic cleaner. and have power to wire on both sides of fuse. I found what I believe is the plug half way from fuse to bics module for rop removal. no power in plug at all , witch tells me bad wire ,

Are you sure you don't mean 853? I see no record in the Bobcat historical specs. that they ever made a 852. Under the old Bobcat numbering system a 852 would have been a water cooled gasoline engine powered machine.
If you post the first 7 digits of the serial number I can try and see if I have a wiring diagram for your machine. Also need to know if it has the BOSS controller or not.

I don't know if what I wrote earlier made sense. I believe I have a bad wire between the fuse and BICS module . The wire leaving the fuse appears to be black with orange stipe. but I don't see that color at plug for ROP removal. and no power at that plug . I would like to run a jumper to the plug to test my theory but don't know what color to use. I am a computer dumb -ss and figured out my manual is for a 853 witch has no bic s and I cant down load the proper manual until some one come home to do it for me tomarrow.

Ok I am a dumb -ss, 853 it is. it is not readable on side any more, but is on inside of door, I went to get serial numbers for OldMachinist yesterday and the tag is not there , At one point in time some one had welded some kind of extra brush guard across the back. The poor thing had suffered some serious abuse in the woods before I got her . Ok just went trough some starter problems so had it rebuilt- fresh. not new bat. ,, cleaned bat. cables and grounds at starter ,, cleaned or at least sprayed elect cleaner on-in relays and fuse block in back. but not relays under cab. machine starts-lights up-and BOSS does its thing,,,, so yes O-M it has boss. I guess I am assuming alt is ok, I have power on both side of bics fuse,, I followed wiring harness from bics module to the plug used When removing ROP. the plug has no power to it, the plug is round, it has 7 wires red red with white , blue, white, black, green and a center one that is orange, The manual I have on computer for 853 and 853 H in the alpha- index has boss but says nothing about bics , lack of I D is a pain. In a 2004 post Tazza told someone to run jumper or hot wire bics mod. This is what I am trying to do inorder to get machine out of snow into shop, BUT WAIT THERES MORE I have admitted to being dumb-ss,,,,,,well I am the boss,,, so what do you suppose that says about hired man,,, well here it is,, when cat blow fuse after fuse he decided a piece of copper would be better than a fuse ,,,, yeah,,, that's when thing went from blowing fuses to no power ,, so may be fried bics or best case finished off wire were short was. Again reason for wanting to run jumper to bics mod. If I could just go in circles a little faster I think I could get that tail ?? THANK YOU ALL

The orange wire in the connector with 7 wires is the 12v+ from the fuse. The orange wire back tracks from the 7 wire connector to a 4 wire connector with orange, black, pink/white and white wires( the white wire could also be red depending on the age of the machine). From the 4 wire connector the orange wire go to the BICS fuse.

Thank you OldMachinist, I will see what I can do with that info tomorrow ..The manual I have downloaded is dated 6-99. and has nothing about BICS , so I guess my machine is newer than that , Any idea when they started using BICS. I am going to look for another manual to down load and don't want to make the same mistake twice,,, I do enough of that the way it is,,Thank you again , I will let you know how things go ,

ok now I am confused,,, not to hard to do . like I said my manual says melroe company 1999 and says 853 and 853H loader manual, ,now my son finds a one saying 853 and 853 H equipped with bobcat interlock control systems (BICS). and dated 1995,,,, So the way it looks to me is that they made one with and one without for some of the same yrs,, I just don't get it ,, many of the pics and diagrams are the same but in slightly different places,, why would they make the same model with different systems????

The date on Bobcat manuals is the last revision date so a manual with a later date could sometimes be for a older model machine. The only real way to know for sure which manual you need is to use the serial number.
Everything Bobcat is serial number driven. For example on the 853 there are 3 different serial number groups for parts manuals. Within these manuals there are further serial number breaks to get the right part for a particular machine.
