843, rebuild or part out?

843 with perkins 4-154 has cracked head, can get one but with frieght and gaskets and getting valves moved plus foreign exchange will be about $3500 canadian. rest of machine is pretty good, lots of new parts, tight axles, minimal chain stretch, good oil pressure and hydros work good. also looking at repowering but will be lots of work and expensive. I like doing stuff like this but it will take a lot of time and effort, I have other things on the go.LOL If any one needs lots of parts let me know it may help me make my decision.

Initial investment
Length of ownership
Intended use
Previous repairs
Availability of replacement machine

If you've owned this machine for a long period and the have got your moneys worth from it then $3500 isn't too bad of an investment but if it's been a money pit it might be time to dump it.
