843 price with blown engine

what is a good price to pay for a 843 with blown engine rest seems to be in decent condition the person that has it wants me to make him an offer and i dont have a clue what they are going for thanks

It might be worth 1-2K depending on the hours on it. Running 843 machines sell for 4-7K again depending on hours and condition. A rebuilt Perkins 4.154 engine will run you 6-7K plus labor to install.

Old Machinist is right the perkins 4.154 engines are expensive to replace and the parts are expensive to fix one. Probably more 843s out there with the Izuzu engine.
