I have a Bobcat 843 and the Bob Tach stops are broke. I want to weld a peice on so that it stops and doesn't tear up my piston. I was wondering if anyone would take a picture of how the stops (metal) on the Bob Tack are mounted, bolted or whatever (located on the bottom of the Bob Tach on both sides). The Bob Tach stops on the Bob Tach are supposed to hit the blocks mounted on the ?lift arms??. Your help will be appreciated. Thanks OhSarg

The stops are very simple depending on what series left arm you have. Can you take a picture of your bobtach?
The older style had a piece of steel about of 2” by 3/4” bar welded to the arm. This made contact with the bobtach when it was fully tilted back. Over time they do wear and adding weld to both surfaces will bring it back to where it should be.
The newer style had an extended part on the nose of the lift arms, this made contact with the bobtach. I have yet to see one of these that has failed.

The bar on the lift arms is fine. The stops on the Bob Tach are broken. I can take a picture of the Bob Tach when it comes back from the shop. It is the older style. Thank You

The older ones had a large piece of flat that was welded around where the pivot point it. I'm just wondering how this part has broken off. If it's still there, but badly worn, you can build it up with weld.
When you get the machine back, please do send me a picture or two. Shouldn't be too hard to get back to working how it should.
You were worried about damaging the piston, the stops are to prevent it being over extended and possibly bend the ram rod if you tilted all the way forward and hit something. At least this is what i was always told.

Yes I don't know how it got broke. Yes that is the pieces I am talking about. So that the piston doesn't get bent. I found a few pictures or videos from youtube that shows it. It looks like a piece of metal with a couple holes and the stop is maybe bolted to it? Thanks

That sounds like the newer style.... I'll need to try and get some pictures of mine to work out just what one you have.
