There is no reason for it to draw in air if the line is air-free. My cheap and nasty fuel pump i use as a transfer pump works up to a few feet above the fuel level I'm drawing from, I'd think your pump may be damaged or really bad quality?The only other option is put a hand primer in line with it, use it to get prime and then let the electric one take over from there.</blockquote>
