That is the way they act when they fail.  As for not being able to change the configuration you may not be following the correct steps.  If your service manual only shows the early version of the panel, the silver outlined one, you need to get the instructions for the later panel.   If your service manual is up to date it will show both panels and how to configure them.</p></blockquote><p></p>
