Found a great link to the 773 manual on this site, need to know is it accurate for the 773G series? Some diagrams and pictures of the display look a bit different. My problem: The system shutdown yesterday after about 6 hrs moving wet dirt. Diagnostic code says 04-21 which if I am decoding right means "engine oil pressure-out of range high". Also indicator lights come on for engine oil pressure and engine coolant temperature. Temperature gauge is acting up as well (just started after the shutdown) What exactly does this mean? Oil and coolant are full. Coolant resevoir was about 1/4 full. Don't have money for a costly servicing so I hope to fix it myself. I am locked out of all pedals. Used override feature today to move it to the road but it is still stuck on the job with the bucket down. Really need to finish this job and the one lined up next. Like most people, I really need the money. Also, first time posting, so should I start a new topic as well to get more responses? Sorry for the lengthy post, trying to save time by telling as much as I know. Any suggestions or advice would be very helpful and greatly appreciated. Thanks so much for your time.

I see alot of the engine oil pressure out of range , and it is almost always a bad sensor ,they are not too expensive , I think around $40 ------ on the coolant temp problem I would first look to see if the belt is on the blower pulleys , and that the spring loaded tensioner has the belt tight , then I would lift the oil coller look under the oil cooler to see if the radiator is blocked up with trash ------------this may be two seperate problems --------------it is possible that the two problem are connected by a wiring issue or even a problem with the controller ----let us know what ever you find

Temperature senders can also go bad, it would account for the crazy temperature readings. Start with the simple things first though, belts.

Well, things did not go well today. Cleaned radiator coils underneath as recommended (did need it, clogged up a bit), checked belts-all good except it will need an alternator belt soon---Checked diangostic panel lights again- Now along with engine oil pressure light staying on; engine coolant temp, hydraulic charge pressure and hydraulic oil temp lights flash---New error codes in addition to 4-21: 11-06, 8-21, 8-11, 7-21 but I may have missed one, they were so many flashing. On the left display my seat bar light is blinking. Traction lock overrride allowed me to get it on my trailer after dropping the bucket, but after arriving at the local Bobcat shop, it no longer would allow an override and it had to be scooped off my trailer to leave it for diagnosis. They seem to think it could be the wiring harness or computer/controller. They are calling me with an "estimate" for repair tomorrow. I am hopeful I can do these type repairs myself and possibly save on the part(s) somewhere. They said it could be very expensive! Any more advice would be greatly appreciated and thank you for your pointers.

Errors like that could be a wiring harness issue, if there is power fluctuations to the controler i can see it possibly doing this. A wire could be worn through, the fuses may have corrosion in the holders, there are so many possibilities.

Update/follow-up- shop guy helped us out- must replace the alternator belt, the hydraulic pressure sensor and the fuel supply hose. Will get out for a little under $300. Still need a new muffler which he quoted at around $300 out the door----Apparently the crappy muffler started all of this, but it will take awhile to cause any new problems. Sound right to you?--- I am tickled to be up and running again. Picking up from the shop tomorrow am.---Still want and appreciate any comments! Is it easy to replace muffler? Can I get an aftermarket part? Thanks again

Pictures would have been worth a thousand words , I had no idea the muffler was bad , that could have helped to think about it ----------Surprized they didn't change the air filter , usually it gets clogged up really bad with soot when the muffler is bad , I'd check it if I were you before leaving the dealer ------------I do beleive there is an aftermarket for say on that muffler , most mufflers are made by Donaldson and once the machine reachs a older age they become available , I know I can get 753, 763 and thats the same anamal , find your local Donaldson dealer and give them the Bobcat part number and any numbers you can get off the muffler it's self ,if you can find it I could give you a phone number of a company that will ship it to you if they have it , it is usually less than 1/2 price ----------------as far as a muffler job will go depends on the pipe from the manifold , sometimes they come out fairly easy , sometimes you destroy it getting it apart because the pipe is rusted thin or extremely corroded , what I do is use a small ball pen hammer and hit all round the collar after removing the clamp that holds the muffler to the pipe , will hitting it I spray Aero Kroil into crack , this will break up the rust and help it to seperate , then wwhen you get the muffler off and you trashed the pipe or it is already trashed more funny can come , the bolts holding the pipe to the manifold sometimes freeze up and break off , which opens a whole new thread of repair procedures , let us know ----------------you need to fix that muffler asap I have seen it melt the wiring harness and it soots up the engine compartment bad and clogs the air filter which if it gets clogged up enough will change the air /fuel mix and could cause something inside your engine called a wash out , which ain't good
