763G Spool valve ball detents rusty?

I just picked up a 763g and have an issue. Both pedals get stuck in the neutral position and have to be pushed hard to break lose. Linkage seems fine and there is no leaks coming from the control valve. From what I can tell from reading this forum and others is that I have rusty ball detents on both spool valves. Seems logical because this machine has sat quite a bit over the last 5 years due to the slow economy. Question, is there an easy way to fix this without pulling the spools out?

Only the lift section has detent balls in the spool.
I assume yours may have have an issue with the pedal lockouts. Lift the cab and look at the control block. Near where the spools stick out there should be two small solenoids. These have a pin that locks the spool. You can try removing them and seeing if they move freely or not.

You are right as usual. Pulled them out and started the machine. They are both simultaneously going in and out. Kinda like a blinker on a car. The only time they lock is when I lift up the safety bar. The BICS seems fine, no alarms. Fuses are good. Forgot to look for codes though. What is the deal with these little guys?

I guess it could be a problem with a relay or bad ground causing power to the coils to be intermittent.
When the seals leak, they can get filled with oil that makes them move slowly, but as yours are jumping all about, i doubt that is the issue.
When you lift the seat bar, they should be sticking all the way out to lock the pedals.

Which relay affects this? Ground, what area should I look? Yes, they lock out when the seat bar is lifted

I can't tell you where the relay is, or if there even is a relay that controls it. Check the grounds around the controller that should be behind the cab i think. Even check the connector that plugs into the computer, it may have corrosion that is causing not enough power to get to the solenoids.
