ok guys..this is going to sound like a stupid question. I have owned this machine for 15 yrs and as i get older my memory isnt the best. when the key is on and engine not running i assume the oil pressure light should be on in the upper right corner of the machine,,,mine is not. and i cant ever remember that it has been on when the machine is not running. How do i check the sending unit on this machine? Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Pete

As a rule, the oil pressure switch makes the ground for the light, so when it it running oil pressure opens the switch so the light goes out. Pull the wire from the block sender and ground it and see if the light comes on. If it does, the sender might be inop.
If the light doesn't come on, pull the panel and check the bulb. If the bulb lights up on a test circuit, you're not getting voltage to it in the panel.
Chances are it's a burned out bulb, but the first test is a quick first step and doesn't require taking the panel apart.
