763 Tilt creeping down

My bucket slowly tilts down on its own when the engine is running. It does not appear to make much is any difference if it has weight in it or not. The other strange thing I noticed ( not sure if it could be related) when I hold the pedal to tilt the bucket back up, when the bucket reaches it full up position the arms will go up a few inches then stop. Are there any adjustments that I should check for the tilt? I am new to working on skid steers and I am not sure where I should start. Thanks! Justin

Its possible you have a bad piston seal. If it lowers on its own, oil can be by-passing internally. The other cause is load checks in the control valve. Yet another possible cause is a bad centering spring in the tilt section, but that is less likely.

Thanks Tazza! One thing I remembered when I had the bobtach off the machine the tilt ram would extend slowly out without it connected to the coupler at just about the same speed. It would do this only when it was running, same thing it is doing now. I am going to look at the control linkage to make sure it is returning all the way. Is the control valve assembly rebuildable ( 1994 763C) if it happens to be the problem? Otherwise I ran the machine for over a hour last evening and other than the throttle control being too loose ( it was froze up and I soaked it in penetrating oil) its great!

Parts are available.
I found with a machine i had that had the same problem. Shut the engine off and tilt the pedal back and see if it stops moving. On mine it was the load checks as it stopped. If its piston seals i believe it will still move no matter what position your foot is.
